The brief

How we handled it
The amendment was framed as a complementary extension of the existing approved use. Careful attention was paid to the interface with the Kororoit Conservation Area, landscape screening around the expanded complex, and compliance with both the Urban Growth Zone Schedule 12 and Rural Conservation Zone Schedule 3 provisions.
The result
Amended Planning Permit PA2012/3780/5 was issued by Melton City Council on 15 August 2023. The permit approved the community hall, four independent living units, caretaker's residence, shrine, dining room, shed and associated signage, alongside the existing place of worship.
